Crafted by the exciting De Trafford, this 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep, dark red hue with an intensely rich ripe cassis and blackberry nose with lovely notes of spice, oak and herbs. Rich, ripe fruit on palate with layers of spice, fruitcake and tobacco this wine has prominent fine tannins that through to a long finish. It is delicious with most red meat dishes and goes particularly well with leg of lamb and rosemary. Also has great maturation potential for those prepared to wait.

Grown in a wide range of climates and regions, at its core, it's is a full-bodied wine with dark fruit flavours and savoury tastes ranging from black pepper to bell pepper depending on region. Cabernet Sauvignon from New World countries is often a touch fruitier than in the Old, but no matter where it is produced it is also widely used to enhance a variety of blends.
DE TRAFFORD - David Trafford is one of South Africa’s most individual winemakers and has been producing wines full-time since 1991 in a self-designed gravity-flow winery. Twenty years on, he is one of South Africa’s most decorated winemakers, crafting wines with a rich and juicy ripeness. His ability to blend New World innovation and Old World methodology can perhaps be best seen in his sweet Straw Wine, which has quickly become one of the Cape's most fiercely sought after wines.
STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA - Stellenbosch is located just 25 miles east of Cape Town and is the most famous wine-producing region in South Africa, home to the country’s best-known wine estates. The Vineyards cover gently rolling hills of granite and sandstone soils, and climatic conditions are suitable for the cultivation of all sorts of grape varieties. However, Cabernet Sauvignon is the region's most successful variety, and is often combined with Merlot to create Bordeaux Blend wines of great quality.
