This is a very grown-up yet charming example of a wine from this iconic region of Bordeaux. Boasting aromas of ripe fruits of blueberry and plums supported by toasty oak, on the palate there is ample body with firm tannins giving great structure. The flavours are predominantly black-currant and plum before a persistent finish completes the experience.

MERLOT - Merlot is a red wine variety with strong historic ties to Bordeaux and the southwest of France but it is now widely planted across the world and, in terms of the volumes, it is rivalled only by Bordeaux companion, Cabernet Sauvignon. Smooth, rounded and "easy drinking" are common descriptions of Merlot wines.DYK? Merlot grapes are used to soften wines made from more tannic varieties because they are relatively large in relation to their pips and the thickness of the skins, in which tannins are found.
BORDEAUX is situated in south-west France and is arguably the world’s most famous and prolific wine region. The majority of Bordeaux wines are the dry, medium and full-bodied red Bordeaux Blends and the finest examples come from the regions of Haut-Médoc, Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Bordeaux is also known for exquisite white wines; both dry styles, particularly from Pessac-Léognan, and the sweeter offerings from of Sauternes.
