SANGIOVESE - Sangiovese is the most widely planted grape variety in Italy. With high acidity, firm tannins and good balance, the wines offer flavours of dark cherries often backed by secondary notes of tomato leaf and dried herbs. The increasing use of oak in production coaxes richer flavours such as wild raspberry and plum.
"Brunello di Montalcino is one Italy's most famous and prestigious wines and this is stunning example. Powerful and fruity yet very elegant, this is my favourite Tuscan wine."
TUSCANY, ITALY - The iconic Tuscany specialises in the production of Italy’s most famous and widely-planted grape – Sangiovese. Located in the undulating hills of central Italy, to the south and west of Florence, Tuscany has developed a world-wide reputation based on wines such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Warm coastal areas sit to the west of the rolling inland hills where greater temperature variation helps balance the grapes' sugars, acidity and aromatics.
