GLERA - Glera is a synonym of the Prosecco grape, grown in Northern Italy. It is a green-skinned variety that has been grown for hundreds of years in the Veneto and Friuli regions to produce sparkling Prosecco wines. Glera ripens late in the season and has high acidity and a fairly neutral palate, making it ideal for sparkling wine production. Glera’s aromatic profile and taste structure is characterized by white peaches and apple, making it a refreshing summer companion or a perfect aperitif.
"An awesome prosecco that works for all occasions. Really 'drinkable' and offers a true touch of class to a crowded marketplace. Definitely worth tyring."
Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene is the DOCG title given to the finest Prosecco wines made in the Veneto wine region of north-eastern Italy. The cooler climate than the rest of Italy means that the Glera grape variety thrives and ‘Prosecco', like 'Champagne', is now a protected name. Sparkling wines from the region are produced using the Charmat method where the second fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks and not in the bottle as it is in champagne and cava.
