ANGOSTURA is one of the Caribbean’s leading rum producers with a great collection of rum brands, and is also the worlds market-leader with their iconic Angostura aromatic bitters, the recipe for which is unchanged since it was first introduced. Their story began in 1824, when Dr Johann Gottlieb Benjamin Siegert (at the time Surgeon General in Simon Bolivars army in Venezuela) perfected the recipe for his aromatic bitters in the town of Angostura (now Ciudad Bolivar) in Venezuela. In 1875, the company moved the business and production to Trinidad.
